Fast World Friday - She Started!

Hey FastWorld Fam - Taylor here. Your resident non-mechanically inclined garage wife primed to sum up what J has been working on lately.

Reminder: despite being married to and educated by Jaysin on all things builds and racing, I still know next to nothing about this stuff ten years in. Proceed with caution. Or not, since you car guys don’t care much for that sort of thing.

ANYWAY. We have big news. HUGE.

The BMW…it runs! I mean, it doesn’t run run but it turns on and makes the kind of sound you would expect to hear when you turn the keys.

NEAT.

I was in the middle of making kids’ dinner when J decided to try it, so once it finally registered that I was in fact hearing a motor or engine or whatever it is that one hears, I dropped whatever nuggets I was baking and popped my head into the garage. “It’s alive!” was my first thought, followed quickly with “it’s a-leaking!” Watch his adorable reaction to both the start and the flood here.

This is one of the most impressive things I’ve witnessed all year. And it’s been a year, y’all. I swear it was only a matter of days ago that I heard those fateful words “I got conned…I think I have to rebuild the motor” and immediately buried mostly all of the rage I felt towards the not-so-good dude who traded us this POS…but now look! Or listen! What was recently a literally empty engine bay now shines bright with all those cute neon tubes and pipes and parts and pieces and she sounds soooooo goooooood.

J also put out a new video, visited the pick n pull (aka grown man tinkering playground), did a lot of cool things that make my eyes glaze over a little bit when he explains them to me, and is still fighting some issues with the tune and the brakes. All in all not a bad week in the garage.
